Allow 3 to 4 hours in total: gathering, set-up, the flight itself (at least 60 minutes) and the landing.
No, we don't take passengers back to the launch site or to their car. Please arrange your own return transport, for example with a fellow passenger, family, or a taxi.
Comfortable clothing suited to the season, long trousers and closed-toe shoes — no high heels. You'll be standing in a field at take-off and landing, so sturdy footwear is no luxury. A hat is a good idea against the sun or the heat of the burner.
Usually shortly after sunrise or in the last hours before sunset — that's when the wind is calmest. Our flying season runs from April to October, weather and wind permitting.
Yes — our briefing and guidance are given in Dutch, French or English, so you'll be looked after in your own language throughout.
The height and distance depend entirely on the wind on the day itself. Our pilot decides the route on the spot, based on the actual conditions.
We don't know exactly in advance — the wind determines the landing spot. Our ground crew follows the balloon by car to collect it after the flight; for your own return journey, please arrange your own transport.
Safety comes first: we follow the forecast closely and confirm around midday whether that day's flight goes ahead. If wind speeds exceed 20 km/h or there's rain, we reschedule the flight to a later date free of charge. More details on our weather and ballooning page.
Our team takes photos of the set-up and the flight as a keepsake. Planning a marriage proposal or another special moment? Let us know in advance and we'll look together at what extra is possible.
Our pilots have been flying for decades and assess the weather conditions before every flight. If in doubt, a flight is rescheduled — that's our guiding principle.
Children are welcome from age 7, provided they can stand upright in the basket for the entire flight of around an hour. Feel free to contact us to discuss this.
For safety reasons, pregnant women cannot take part in a balloon flight. If you have any doubts about your health or physical condition, please contact us beforehand.
From €165 to €170 per person for a shared flight, depending on the number of people. See the full overview on our prices page.
Yes, all our prices include VAT, insurance and taxes — no hidden costs on top.
On a shared flight, you fly alongside other passengers at a price per person. On a private flight, you hire the whole basket and fly only with people of your own choosing. A booking for 6 people or more automatically becomes a private flight. More info on our private flight page.
Yes, provided there's a clear, obstacle-free field of at least 60 by 60 metres and the owner's permission. Would you rather use one of our regular sites? Take a look at our regions.
A Ballonteam Westhoek gift voucher is valid for 24 months from purchase and can be redeemed for any shared or private flight.
Certainly — for groups of more than 15 people, we split the party across several balloons from our fleet of eight. Get in touch for a tailored proposal.
You can pay with Bancontact, Belfius, KBC/CBC and ING, and also securely with Visa or Mastercard.
We fly regularly from fixed launch sites in Ypres, Diksmuide, Poperinge, Zonnebeke, Menen, Kortrijk, Roeselare, Veurne, Nieuwpoort, Alveringem and the Heuvelland. It's often possible elsewhere in West Flanders too, as well as in Hainaut — see the full overview on our region page.
That's a deliberate choice: we want you to fly in a manageable, friendly group, not an anonymous crowd of twenty or more. Our fleet of 8 balloons each comes in a different size. Book with a party of 6 or more, and the basket is automatically reserved exclusively for your group, at no extra cost for that private flight.
