Balloon Ride over Menin
Menin lies on the border with France, and you can feel it from the air: two landscape cultures blending into one another, with the Lys as a recognisable ribbon winding its way through the whole scene, past Menin and neighbouring Wervik. Our launch site sits close to the motorway, which makes the area easy to reach.
The river gives the flight a natural anchor that our pilot likes to plan the route around, though the wind ultimately determines the exact course. In the distance, the gentle slopes of the Heuvelland take shape — a border region that looks surprisingly varied from 300 metres up.

The route is determined by the wind on the day; a flight can reach the border zone with France, but that is never fixed in advance.
That varies from flight to flight. Our ground crew follows the balloon by car to collect it after landing — for your own return journey, please arrange your own transport.
Our fixed launch site lies close to the motorway between Menin and Wervik, easily accessible and with open views over the Lys valley and the Heuvelland in the distance.
